Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Lead Nurse for Children's Outpatients with a keen interest in working with children and families to join children'sservices at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
Our children'soutpatients departments are located at Pinderfields Hospital, Dewsbury DistrictHospital and we also provide a number of clinics at the Pontefract GeneralInfirmary.

The successful candidate will join ourfriendly and welcoming team, working alongside experienced Paediatric Nursesand the wider MDT who will provide you with support in your new role. The roleis full time and is hours per week predominately Monday-Friday withoccasional weekend work dependant on clinic capacity.

The department offers a range of clinics for children and young people from birth to 18 years old and depending on the clinic, a team of doctors, specialist nurses, speech and language therapists, community nurse or other members of the team will be at our clinics for:

Job responsibilities
Develop a high level of clinical decision making, monitor and improve standards of care, working within their advanced scope of professional practice.
Lead clinical care by managing a patient caseload providing expert assessment, planning and evaluation.
Co-ordinate and manage nurse-led clinics (within Speciality/service).
Contribute towards a multi-professional approach in the management of patients within the specialist area, especially in relation to ongoing care needs and discharge arrangements.
Support patients and their families and ensure that they receive the required information to enable them to self-manage, lead, or participate in their care delivery.
To support, assist and encourage the multi-disciplinary team in resolving patient problems, by the provision of new and innovative models of case management.
Work with the Matron to promote the development of nurses undertaking the CNO Ten Key Roles as considered appropriate Nurse Prescribing.
