Event Coordinator Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to join our team at Barker Brooks. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The Event Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of live events, including budget management, timeline creation, vendor liaison, and customer service. This is a full-time hybrid role with flexibility for some remote work.
* To collaborate with the Event Manager, sales, and editorial teams to develop plans for events and manage event planning group meetings.
* To identify and book locations for events, liaise with location management for booking, catering, and logistical arrangements, including vendor management.
* To liaise between sales, editorial, and design teams for the timely production and circulation of marketing materials and other information related to event publicity.
* To compile and send out speaker and delegate information, including liaison with AV, hosts, entertainment, and toastmaster/voice of god.
* To assemble and arrange delivery of delegate packs, name badges, and exhibition stand materials as appropriate for conferences.
* To manage the booking with couriers and timely delivery and return of exhibition stands, computer equipment, and documents as required by sponsors.
* To manage the event on the day/night, instructing external contractors and internal staff for set-up.
* To manage entry process for our awards ceremonies and hold the judging meetings.
* To organize post-event meetings, measuring event impact and ROI, and feeding information back into the planning cycle for future events.
Requirements
We are looking for an experienced Event Coordinator with:
* Event planning and management skills.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Good time management skills and the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
* Proven experience in a similar role.
* Strong organizational, project management skills, and the ability to take ownership of projects.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work on evenings as needed.
* Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £27,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a company pension scheme, profit-related annual bonus, 25 days holiday per year, and more.
