As a Mid-level User Researcher, you will play a crucial role in informing the design and continuous improvement of digital products and services. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to plan and execute comprehensive user research activities. This role offers the opportunity to work independently while benefiting from the guidance and mentorship of a senior researcher, enabling you to further hone your skills and expertise.
Responsibilities
Plan and Execute User Research:
- Design and conduct a variety of user research activities to support the design, development, and enhancement of products and services.
- Employ diverse research methodologies to gather valuable insights into user behaviour and preferences.
Data Analysis and Synthesis:
- Analyse research data and synthesise clear, actionable findings.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to create a comprehensive understanding of user behaviour.
Communication of Findings:
- Effectively communicate research findings to foster a deep understanding of users and their needs within the team and the broader organisation.
- Present research outcomes in a clear and compelling manner.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Translate stakeholder briefs into actionable research plans.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to translate research findings into valuable product features and services.
Mentorship and Guidance:
- Lead colleagues in understanding research data and executing actionable findings.
- Mentor non-researchers in conducting their own research tasks.
Knowledge Sharing:
- Contribute to the organisation through presentations and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
Skills and Experience
- 3-5+ years of experience in user research, preferably in digital user experience and technology-focused projects.
- Proven ability to conduct end-to-end research using a variety of methodologies. - Personal interest in understanding diverse user needs and preferences.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presentations.
- Ability to distil and communicate findings effectively.
- Confidence in working with important stakeholders and presenting findings to various audiences.
- Familiarity with common user research methods and knowing when to use them.
- Bonus points for experience with research repositories, unmoderated testing, accessibility testing, A/B testing, or analytics platforms.
- Experience in Agile environments and rapid research timeframes is advantageous.
