Job Description
This position is based within the main European Distribution Centre, shipping product to customers across Europe, Middle East and Africa.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
1. Picking, packing and preparing goods for dispatch (UK & Export)
2. Preparing necessary dispatch paperwork (UK & Export)
3. Understanding of Import and Export procedures to ensure correct paperwork is supplied with goods
4. Working with Oracle order management system to release stock and generate necessary paperwork
5. Loading and unloading of delivery vehicles
6. Liaison with Customer Service and Sales teams to respond to queries and keep teams informed of progress
7. Customisation of shipments according to customer specific requirements, including the construction of custom-made retail packs
8. Actively contributing to, and participating in, continuous improvement initiatives
9. Adhering to Health and Safety rules - it is every worker’s responsibility to ensure that the health and safety procedures are followed, and to monitor the safety of their work area
10. General housekeeping - Avery Dennison prides itself on its clean working environment, and team members are responsible for ensuring that the department is kept clean and tidy
Qualifications
Relevant warehousing experience:
1. Current forklift truck licence preferred
2. Computer Literate – must be confident using computer applications, however training will be given on in-house systems
3. Team player – must enjoy working in a team environment, with the ability to liaise with other members of the team to get a task done
4. Flexible - able to adapt to a constantly changing environment and willing to take on additional or alternative tasks as required
5. Initiative – can identify where improvements could be made, able to implement improved working practices
6. High attention to detail and accuracy
7. Experience of import and export shipping would be preferred
