Health &Safety Advisor
Location: Manchester
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Our client, a market leader in the UK home interiors sector, is seeking a Safety and SHEQ Advisor to join their growing team. The business comprises three prestigious brands, specialising in high-end home furnishings and interiors. This role will ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across their sites.
Role Responsibilities:
* Delivering and organising relevant health and safety training for all staff members, ensuring training records are maintained and up to date.
* Conducting inductions for new staff, ensuring they understand the company’s health and safety policies and procedures.
* Addressing requests for safety-related equipment and ensuring appropriate documentation is in place to support safety standards.
* Reviewing and updating risk assessments, method statements, and health and safety policies.
* Maintaining and delivering company records relating to safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
* Conducting internal quality and environmental audits to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
* Managing and overseeing Occupational Health screening across the business, ensuring compliance.
* Performing regular fire alarm checks and site-wide legionella testing.
* Liaising with external contractors, such as those involved in waste management and insurance visits.
* Producing monthly quality reports for department heads and conducting Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments across the business.
* Undertaking small ad hoc projects related to the SHEQ function.
Training and Qualifications Required:
* ISO 14001 Internal Auditor
* ISO 9001 Internal Auditor
* IOSH Managing Safely
* Fire Risk Assessment
* Display Screen Equipment Assessor
* Legionella Awareness (preferred)
* COSHH (preferred)
* First Aid (preferred)
* NEBOSH (preferred)
* Mental Health First Aid (preferred)
