About the Role:
Mid Sussex District Council is seeking two highly skilled, motivated, and qualified Senior Estates Surveyors responsible for the day-to-day management of part of the Council’s tenanted residential, non-residential, operational, and commercial property portfolios including providing property advice to other business units.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee a Technical/Property Officer who will support the role to ensure timely delivery of all work and projects providing staff training where necessary.
2. Deputise for the Estates Services Team Leader as required.
3. Manage a diverse property portfolio of commercial and operational assets.
4. Carry out a full range of property management activities including lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews, lease consents, easements, wayleaves, licenses, enforcement of covenants, obligations, and business rate revaluations.
5. Support the delivery of corporate projects, property asset management and to provide the Council with property advice to assist and inform services as required.
6. Procure, manage, monitor and review services provided by external contractors and consultants (including managing agents where appropriate).
7. Lead on or assist with the acquisition and disposal of assets as required.

About You:
1. Fully qualified and experienced RICS surveyor.
2. Demonstrable knowledge of commercial property management.
3. Excellent knowledge of Landlord & Tenant Act.
4. Knowledge of best practice in Asset Management.
5. Knowledge of procurement practices within the public sector.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Able to contribute positively as a team member both as team leader and as part of a team.
