Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
About:
As the Electrical Operations Manager, you will take charge of the Electrical Workshop, overseeing the Controls and Automation teams. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that production goals are consistently met while upholding the highest standards of product quality. You will prioritize health and safety in all operations, lead initiatives for continuous improvement, and support the development of new customer contacts and sales opportunities.
Key Duties:
1. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to keep staff informed and engaged.
2. Manage any out-of-hours customer requirements.
3. Oversee the workshop skills matrix and plan cross-training within the unit.
4. Provide motivational and engaging leadership, conducting appraisals and reviews in line with appropriate frameworks.
5. Promote two-way communication to foster a culture of open dialogue and feedback.
6. Liaise with Electrical Engineers to ensure jobs remain on target.
7. Responsible for quality control, including test certificates.
8. Ensure a healthy, safe, and legally compliant department, continually reviewing practices for compliance with NICIEC.
9. Perform additional duties as designated appropriate to the role.
10. Collaborate with all management and board-level teams for continual growth and development.
11. Review and develop working practices and processes to ensure profitability.
12. Maintain a professional image on-site and in workshops.
13. Contribute to staff development through performance management and effective leadership.
14. Support processes such as absence management and recruitment.
15. Participate fully in continuing professional development (CPD) and undertake training aligned with business needs.
Requirements:
Qualifications and educational requirements:
1. Good level of general education.
2. Time-serving tradesperson.
3. Management/Leadership qualification (advantageous).
Required competencies:
1. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
2. Knowledge of electrical engineering.
3. Proficient in IT.
4. Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
5. Engaging leadership with the ability to motivate staff.

Other information:
