FULL TIME PERMANENT ROLE
The role is as exciting and varied as it is challenging. When you join the Isle of Wight NHS Trust Ambulance Service you'll work with a host of public and voluntary services; Police and Fire & Rescue Service and volunteers from organisations such as British Red Cross, St John Ambulance, RNLI, IoW Search and Rescue & HM Coastguard.
Successful applicants will demonstrate high levels of personal commitment to facilitate the delivery of a patient-focused service. We need individuals who have the drive and passion to make a difference to people's lives, but also the personal resilience to work in a high-pressured environment.
Successful candidates will need to be available to start in post for September 2025.
Main duties of the job
Job Purpose
* To ensure that relationships and own behaviour is managed in line with Trust and service competencies.
Job Statement
* To respond using advanced emergency driving skills and manage emergency calls / incidents as allocated by the Integrated Care Hub, including emergencies, urgent calls, routine transfers, mainland transfers and other operational details commensurate with their role and responsibilities.
* Work either as part of ambulance crew or as a solo responder.
* At all times provide specialist, clinical, social and holistic care to patients in a pre-hospital environment.
* Formulation and delivery of critical care plans and treatment for patients in accordance with agreed guidelines, Trust / Service Policy, Procedures and current legislation, Health & Care Professions Council including Joint Royal Colleges Ambulance Liaison Committee (JRCALC), College of Paramedics (CoP) and National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) as appropriate.
* Demonstrate a continued commitment to professional development.
* Lifting, carrying and moving of patients and / or equipment.
