We are currently looking for Piping Materials Engineers to join the team on a contract bass for approximately 6-9 months.
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer – Contractor (Offshore Rotation) for 12 months, based in Great Yarmouth, UK.
The role is outside IR35, and we invite Limited Companies to engage.
The services will be carried out primarily offshore, as part of barge campaigns for South North Sea and Dutch sector assets, on a variety of brownfield modifications and integrity related agreed scopes.
The role will generally be part of a 2-week offshore rotation, working with another engineer back-to-back. Approx 2 days per week may be required for onshore assistance to the offshore engineer.
Scope of Services:
• Carry out engineering survey of structural elements identified as requiring replacement or repair;
• Provide engineering sketches for reinforcement/replacement/modification of steelwork in accordance with standards;
• Review & Approve lift plans;
• Carry out structural checks of structures for lifting/scaffolding/laydown proposals;
• Report progress to barge supervisor & participate in weekly progress meetings;
• Liaise with plant inspector & review inspection findings and carry out integrity checks accordingly. Alternatively determine repair/replacement solutions where required;
• Coordinate with material coordinator to order required supply of loose material for offshore fabrication;
• Raise site queries to ensure visibility by all team members of scope growth;
• Provide support as required for other disciplines, mechanical & piping, rigging, E&I, etc.
• Issue signed off sketches/drawings to Shell DCC.
• Check and approve calculations.
• Ensure scopes are executed offshore in accordance with the design drawings.
• Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure for the energy sector.
• Interface with other disciplines, clients and third parties on emerging issues
• Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards
• Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate
