Package: From £44,110 pa (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Let us introduce the role:
AWE is currently recruiting for a Senior Environment Specialist – Operational and Project Support.
The Senior Environment Specialist will provide advice and documentation as a subject matter expert on environmental topics to one or more operational areas/projects, for all activities and services that fall within the scope of the Environmental Management System. You will facilitate the management and delivery of the Environmental Management System.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Produce timely and accurate environmental assessments and documentation, as a subject matter expert, for one or more operational areas and/or projects.
2. Manage the technical development, production and review of documentation within the scope of the Environmental Management System (EMS), as appropriate.
3. Assure the implementation of environmental requirements from the EMS within the operational/project area.
4. Act as the primary point of contact for environmental advice within the operational area/project.
5. Derive and analyse environmental company performance metrics. Advise on the production and development of strategies for continuous improvement and actively encourage their implementation.
6. Manage and participate in the evaluation of compliance process, including but not limited to inspections, audits and investigations. Advise on the production and development of improvement plans and assure their successful implementation.
7. Develop and proactively manage the interface/relationship with all internal and external regulators/stakeholders.

Important things you need to know:
1. You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
