Role Overview: As a Healthcare Assistant (HCA), you will play an essential role in supporting children with learning disabilities in their personal care, daily activities, and emotional well-being. You will work alongside our dedicated care team to provide individualized care plans, promote social interactions, and ensure that each child’s unique needs are met with compassion and respect. Key Responsibilities: Assist children with personal care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and medication administration, ensuring their dignity and comfort. Support children in accessing educational, recreational, and social activities, both within the care home and in the wider community. Encourage independence and support the development of life skills, as appropriate for each child’s abilities. Monitor and report on any changes in a child’s health, behavior, or emotional state, communicating effectively with the wider care team. Maintain accurate care records, documenting all care provided and observations made. Work in partnership with parents, social workers, and other professionals to deliver personalized care plans. Create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional well-being. Skills and Experience Required: Previous experience working with children, preferably those with learning disabilities A caring, patient, and empathetic approach, with a genuine desire to improve the lives of children. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Ability to support children with both physical and emotional challenges.
