Role Overview
We are looking for a Media Sales Director to lead and shape our new business efforts, driving revenue growth and securing high-value (creator) partnerships across the sports industry. This role will focus on identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities with sporting federations, teams, and sponsors, ensuring they understand the unique value that creators and content partnerships bring to their marketing and media objectives.
The ideal candidate will be a commercially driven salesperson with a proven track record in sales and business development, an established network in sport, and a deep understanding of digital media and sponsorship.
Responsibilities
* New Business & Sales Pipeline: Proactively identify and develop new business leads, ensuring a strong sales pipeline to drive revenue growth.
* Partnership Development: Sell 12th’s creator-led media solutions to sporting federations, teams, and sponsors, positioning us as the go-to agency for digital content partnerships.
* Lead Generation & Outreach: Use industry knowledge, networking, and outreach strategies to drive high-quality sales opportunities.
* Strategic Sales: Develop tailored proposals and sales pitches that align with the commercial goals of rights holders and sponsors.
* Negotiation & Closing: Take ownership of the sales process from initial outreach to contract negotiation and deal closure.
* Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the sports industry.
* Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends, particularly in digital content, social media, and shifting fan engagement models, to identify new sales opportunities.
* Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of commercial projects and campaigns.
Requirements
* 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial partnerships within sports marketing, media, or sponsorship.
* Proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment.
* Established network within sporting federations, teams, and sponsors.
* Deep understanding of creators and digital media partnerships in the sports space.
* Strong ability to generate and close new business opportunities.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers.
* Passion for the evolving landscape of sports media and fan engagement.
