Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share and full-time basis
Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience, plus car, plus allowances and an excellent benefits package

The opportunity:
We are looking for a dynamic, results-driven consultant to join our team and support our growth strategy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in client delivery and winning business, and a strong ability to develop, implement and manage strategies for the growth of our climate change & sustainability proposition.
This role is perfect for an individual who has experience with climate and sustainability consultancy and a passion to support organisations in developing their climate change resilience. The ideal candidate will have experience in working on climate change and environmental sustainability projects, this could be with corporate organisations, local authorities, or charities. An insurance background is not necessary.
Our customer base ranges across the Public and Private sector, from mid-market to Global. This position is home based; however, there will be a requirement to create relationships with key stakeholders which will mean spending regular time in our London office and travelling to customer locations.

What will you be doing?
1. Climate Risk Assessments:
Conduct thorough climate risk assessments for clients, identifying potential vulnerabilities and exposures to climate-related hazards. Undertake these assessments on either a desktop and on-site basis for flood, natural hazards, and wind as part of risk management survey programmes in line with global practice guidelines.
2. Resilience Planning and Strategy Development:
Develop and implement tailored climate resilience strategies and action plans for clients, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards. Recommend specific adaptation and mitigation measures to enhance clients' resilience to climate change.
3. Client Advisory and Support:
Provide expert advice to clients on climate adaptation and resilience, helping them understand risks and opportunities. Support clients in integrating climate resilience into their overall business strategies and operations.
4. Business Development:
Deliver growth and generate business opportunities in the Climate Change and Sustainability sector to support the team’s targets. Proactively manage customer accounts to support their needs and drive revenue.
5. Continuous Improvement:
Stay informed about the latest developments in climate science, policy, and technology to provide cutting-edge solutions. Ensure all climate resilience projects comply with relevant regulations.
What are we looking for?
1. A relevant degree or professional qualification in a climate-related topic and/or Risk Management
2. Related experience in assessing a range of risks and the adequacy of control measures (primarily flood, natural hazards, wind, and heat)
3. Knowledge of risk management
4. Strong understanding and delivery experience of climate change impacts, risk assessment methodologies, and adaptation strategies.
5. Experience with climate modelling, GIS, and other analytical tools.
6. A track record of business development success in the sustainability consulting environment.
7. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
10. Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
