SEN Teaching Assistant

Teach Now, a trusted leader in education recruitment, is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) with a specialism in SEMH needs. This role is based in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cheshunt, London.
About the Role:
As a SEN TA with expertise in SEMH, you will play an integral part in helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive in their educational journey. Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Developing and implementing tailored strategies to support emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour.
• Encouraging students to engage with the curriculum through creative and personalised approaches.
• Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to create individualised learning plans.
• Promoting a calm and nurturing environment where children feel safe to express themselves.

What We’re Looking For:
• Proven experience working with children with SEMH needs in a school or similar setting.
• A strong understanding of SEMH strategies and behaviour management techniques.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with children.
• A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting individual needs.
• A passion for education and empowering young learners to achieve their potential.
