Are you a qualified District Nurse or have just completed the District Nurse Specialist Practice Qualification?
We have full-time vacancies within the Community Nursing Networks in North Lincs.
As a District Nurse, you will carry a caseload of complex patients and contribute to the management of the teams.
We are currently undergoing a number of changes, including an electronic allocation system and the introduction of a nursing HUB where patient visits are triaged and prioritized. Both systems are in their infancy, so it is an exciting time to be part of the transformation.
Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen for Band 6 District Nurses to join the forward-thinking District Nursing teams. We are part of the integrated Health and Social Care teams within the community setting. You will need a sound understanding of the current Nursing and Health agenda, excellent communication skills, and effective leadership and decision-making skills. You will be an individual able to work autonomously while promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for team members and students.
Part of your daily managerial tasks will be to update or populate rosters, manage any sickness for the day, support the wider workforce, and complete any projects required of you. There is also a rota in place covering the HUB.
This post will provide the opportunity to take forward the expanding role of community nursing within the multi-disciplinary integrated team to meet the long-term conditions and end-of-life care agenda, linking and working closely with the GPs. It is expected that you will have an understanding and commitment to the continuing development and modernization of community nursing and must have effective communication and negotiation skills.
The post is suitable for a newly qualified District Nurse, who will gain caseload management skills and experience over a 6-month preceptorship period.
