The Lead Business Analyst plays a crucial role in leading the evaluation of technology solutions as part of the organisation's business transformation initiatives. This position combines technical knowledge with a deep understanding of business processes and business analysis to deliver solutions that contribute to the overall success of improvement and transformation efforts.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to understand business goals and requirements.
2. Oversee the Business Analysis function, leading and mentoring a small team.
3. Lead the evaluation of business solutions.
4. Lead and support business readiness activities (training, user testing) for all BITT deliveries from small changes through to full projects.
5. Evaluate current and emerging technologies and trends relating to the requirements and provide recommendations.
6. Ensure alignment with IT strategies and overall business strategies, contributing to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
7. Own and develop the Business Analysis procedures and processes.
8. Liaise with IT and other technical colleagues on allocated BITT projects.
9. Provide technical product ownership of assigned BITT products e.g. Low/No Code Workflow software.
10. Coordinate and supervise third-party low-code workflow development and automation teams.
11. Share knowledge and coach colleagues in technological solutions to support change management and optimisation.
12. Translate business requirements into technical specifications as required.
13. Provide support within development, testing, and reporting as required for transformation.
14. Perform analysis to produce detailed process models and work closely with the Business Analysts and Business Process Manager to identify areas of potential improvement.
Education
1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Business Analysis or a related discipline.
2. Certified Business Analyst (BCS, IIBA etc) is strongly preferred.
Job-Related Experience
1. Significant experience of technical business analysis, ideally related to business transformation.
2. Demonstrated experience as a technical BA through full project and business case lifecycles.
3. Successful track record of supporting the implementation of main business applications.
4. Agile experience and software/solution delivery lifecycle experience.
5. Experience of improvement related to ERP, CRM, Workflow and other third-party software.
6. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
7. Proficiency in data analysis/Business Intelligence tools.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
10. Ability to manage and lead a small team.
11. Experience with functional design, including wireframes and activity diagrams.
