Rating Assistant - City - up to £28k - Hybrid - Must have strong office, admin and communication skills to apply!
KMK are excited to be working with a super social, diverse and well established, independent, market leading property consultancy, who are seeking a Rating Assistant to join their team.
Based in a great City location, offering modern offices, a social network and lots of career development and training, as a Rating Assistant you will assist a team of three within the Rating Management Team, but you will sit with a wider team of circa 20 people within Business Rates Surveying.

Working 3 days office and 2 at home, as a Rating Assistant you will assist with the processing of rating notices, assist in the maintenance of excellent client relationships and provide consultancy services, daily duties to include:
* Checking rate demands for correctness and liaising with Councils where they are incorrect and obtaining new, corrected demands.
* Updating records on our bespoke database (and on any client systems or schedules as appropriate) to reflect changes in occupancy by our clients, amending monthly instalment payments as necessary and obtaining refunds where due.
* Providing monthly reports to clients.
* Provide assistance and advice to members of the rating department in respect of liability or billing matters.
* Provide advice to clients in respect of liability or billing matters.
* Provide advice to clients in respect of mitigation strategies, to include then managing third party providers on behalf of instructing clients.
* Assisting with the preparation of funding requests or undertaking tasks associated with our treasury function, to include interaction with relevant software platforms.
* To create and maintain records in our firmwide CRM and Financial BIS.
* Assisting with preparation for litigation where appropriate.
* Any additional duties as reasonably requested.
In order to be successful, they are looking for the following attributes:
* 5 GCSE’s A*-C.
* Strong attention to detail.
* High service delivery skills.
* Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
* Self-motivated.
* Committed and organised.
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages.
* Candidates will be expected to have a good understanding of the current rating system in England and some knowledge of Wales and Scotland including up to date case law and legislation.
* A background in local authority or prior experience with the rating system will be helpful.
