You'll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) focuses on management accounting and provides expertise in financial management and business strategy. ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) offers a broader spectrum of accounting skills, covering areas like audit, taxation, and financial reporting, preparing professionals for various roles in finance and accounting. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be a fully qualified accountant who will be able to apply for a broad range of roles in financial functions in the BBC and across the industry This scheme starts in September 2025, and you will be on a fixed term contract which means your contract is for the duration of the apprenticeship only. The duration of this scheme will be between 27 and 40 months (depending on your current academic record/exemptions) and is delivered virtually. ARE YOU THE RIGHT CANDIDATE? To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must: Be aged 18 or over when the apprenticeship starts in September 2025 By the start of the apprenticeship in September 2025, have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for a minimum of 3 years. Financial Operations is a multi-functional team covering balance sheet accounting, controllership, payroll & expenses and our Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) contract. They provide expertise and advice in accounting for capital assets and leases, programme and period-end production accounting, balance sheet management, and also support end-users with the finance systems. Financial Operations also manage the BBC's finance and accounting outsourced contract with 'TCS', whose activities include payroll and expenses, order to cash, record to report and credit control.
