Internal applicants only, Fixed-Term Contract: 2 Years We’re looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Corporate Debt & Business Rates team. This new post will support the efficient, effective and fair collection of debts owed to the council, focusing primarily on the managing and recovery of larger and complex debts, and expediating action on empty properties. You will also support with training, accuracy checking, and providing expert advice and guidance to members of the team. Initially, this post will be focused on a project reducing high level Council Tax debt. You will need to have knowledge and experience of debt recovery litigation, and of applying relevant guidelines such as Local Government Finance Act, Council Tax (Administration and Enforcement) regulations to complex and sometimes contentious cases and situations. We realise that this may provide a developmental opportunity and we welcome applications from candidates who may not be able to meet all elements of the person specification.
