We are on the lookout for a talented and knowledgeable Junior Garment Technologist who will take responsibility for all aspects of the role, from prototype through to final delivery.
You’ll be responsible for your own product area, developing product that meets JoJo Maman Bébé’s high quality and safety standards whilst managing relationships with suppliers and leading effective communication.
Children's wear background is essential for the role. Experience in women's wear or with soft goods or toys would be a bonus but not essential.
A peek into your daily adventures
* Managing the sealing process from prototype through shipment approval.
* Preparing specification packs, fitting samples and ensuring critical path is maintained.
* Maintaining clear communication with suppliers during the sealing and approval process.
* Developing blocks and key shapes.
* Measuring, fitting and commenting on fit samples and collaborating with buying and design to achieve an excellent fit.
* Ensuring existing fabric quality is consistent across all suppliers, utilising and updating our fabric library.
* Safeguarding that all items adhere to British Safety Standards, international compliance & labelling requirements.
* Efficient ownership of relevant targets on the critical path.
* Troubleshooting and liaising with Technical Manager to ensure resolution on quality or production concerns.
* Support senior team members in carrying out annual supplier visits, in person or remotely.
* Support CS team on customer queries and complaints.
* Regularly update Technical Manager and highlight potential product risks.
* Actively engaging with our ethical or environmental team.
Skills that make you shine:
* Good understanding of pattern/garment construction and a core understanding of different fabrics, material types and trims, and testing procedures.
* Experience of working with baby and infant childrenswear. You will need 2+ years of relevant experience.
* Experience of working directly with international factories.
* Support factory audits and analysing audit reports.
* Efficiently multi-task, be highly organised and work happily in a busy, whilst friendly, atmosphere.
* Understanding of high-quality brand standards balanced with commercial needs.
* A solution-oriented approach with the ability to work with others to efficiently find the best outcome.
* You’ll have great communication skills and the ability to liaise with all departments within JoJo and our supply base.
* You’ll have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Packages.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
