Job overview
The post holder will play a key role in monitoring standards in the delivery and quality of midwifery care. They are responsible for the implementation of the Trust Nursing and Midwifery strategy in the clinical area to support delivery of the corporate nursing and midwifery agenda.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have continuing responsibility for the management and development of the specialist area, with the following criteria:
1. Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates programmes of care.
2. Monitors and ensures maintenance of standards of care.
3. Monitors and ensures high quality of care for women/birthing people and their family.
4. Expert clinical practitioner within own sphere clinical area.
5. Formulates and implements policies within own sphere.

Education/Qualifications
* Registered Midwife or NMC register.
* Degree/Masters Diploma in related subject.
* Specialist/Teaching qualification.
* Masters degree or working towards.
* Leadership course/qualification.
