This post currently has a retention payment of £3,000 per year (subject to annual review), which is split into two fixed payments - £1,500 in June and £1,500 in December. You would become eligible for the next payment following successful completion of your probationary period and a minimum of 6 months continuous employment.

The Role and Team
The advertised role forms part of the Council’s Capital Development and Delivery team which provides Client-side construction-based project management and quantity surveying services to the Council. The team delivers a wide variety of major projects and programmes involving new build and extension / remodelling schemes relating to schools, leisure centres, offices, depots, and listed buildings for example. This involves large scale Capital investment.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) and an individual with a strong background in the delivery of Client-side Quantity Surveying elements of construction projects.
The post holder must have:
* A Degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying
* Relevant experience associated with the role
* Excellent communication skills
* A proven track record of working on the delivery of Capital programmes and portfolios of projects from inception through to completion, working as part of a Multi- Disciplinary Client-side Team.
* Highly developed interpersonal, organisational and negotiation skills
* The ability to work in a high profile and demanding environment, working to tight deadlines relevant experience respective to the role.
* The ability to work flexibly as an individual and part of a team.
* The ability to travel independently to and from locations away from the office such as construction sites or consultant’s offices. In addition, individuals need to be able to visit construction sites and be able to ascend and descend scaffolding as an example, on accompanied visits.
