We are looking for a registered professional, adult or paediatric nurse, allied health professional, or midwife looking to work as a member of our Resuscitation and Clinical Simulation Services Team. You must have current experience working in an acute hospital setting and have evidence of recent clinical experience with acutely unwell patients/deteriorating patients on a frequent and regular basis.
You'll be interested in developing specialist knowledge across resuscitation, simulation-based education and human factors. The role requires you to be a Resuscitation Council UK Adult Immediate Life Support, and/or Paediatric Immediate Life Support course instructor, or nominated as instructor potential and working towards instructor status. You will then proceed to develop as an Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider. There is an 18 month training period to achieve advanced course provider status which is required for this role.
The successful applicant will join us in making a positive impact on patient care and supporting our multi-disciplinary colleagues through delivering and developing resuscitation operational services, simulation and resuscitation training to meet national and local standards. You must be an enthusiastic teacher and prepared to work in a small dynamic team.
Main duties of the job
Attending and following up 2222 calls ensuring that best practice guidelines have been followed and supporting junior members of the team who attend these calls. Delivering or working towards delivering on intermediate level, nationally accredited and governed resuscitation courses, such as Immediate Life Support, Paediatric Immediate Life Support and Advanced Life Support, ensuring quality standards are achieved. You will deliver resuscitation and deteriorating patient education to all staff at the Trust, across all Trust sites. To do this you will utilise simulation-based education to develop both the skills of resuscitation and human factor non-technical skills.
Developing project plans and working towards leading the implementation, delivery and evaluation of key programmes of work, tailoring programmes to suit multi-professional staffing groups, ensuring they are delivered within agreed timescales. Supporting the Resuscitation Operational Lead and carrying out line management duties for junior members of the team.
