About the department Part of the Global Crisis Management and Physical Security team, the abrdn Crisis & Incident Management Function have strategic oversight of Crisis and Incident Management Framework for our organisation, ensuring close alignment with the business, with other Security, Resilience and Protection teams, and with supporting functions. The team is committed to protecting the safety of our people, protecting our clients, and sustaining our business. We do this by training, testing, and exercising the crisis and incident teams and providing structured tools and procedures. This approach embeds and maintains an effective incident and crisis management process which ensures the company can respond effectively to disruptive events. About the role This is a fixed term vacancy lasting 12 months. The Crisis and Incident Management Lead has a vital role in coordinating the efficient operation and ongoing enhancement of the Crisis & Incident Management Framework. Key responsibilities are: Coordinate incidents within abrdn, act as Incident Manager, detect and activate; coordinate response and recovery; lead incident closedown and debrief activities. Developing Post Incident Reports to capture lessons identified and ensure they become lessons learned by ensuring they are fed into corporate risk management processes Developing and delivering challenging exercises and training to abrdn Incident and Crisis Management Teams globally Maintenance and continual improvement of Incident and Crisis Management Plans and Playbooks used to assist the incident response process Engaging with and nurturing effective partnerships with customers, partners, and team members across all levels of the organisation. Development of reports and presentations and attendance at regular forums and steering groups to report on incident management and lessons learned Maintenance of abrdn mass communications and Incident Management systems, task planners, document repositories and facilities Candidate requirements Essential Skills and Experience Extensive previous experience of managing the response to disruptive incidents Strong presentation skills, with a proven ability to craft and deliver effective training, exercises and briefings to all levels of an organisation Excellent writing skills, with previous experience of report writing and developing effective briefing packs for senior collaborators Knowledge of threat and risk assessment methodologies We are proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer.
