Summary of Role
a) Supporting in the delivery of commercial and non-commercial events organised by the British Plastics Federation.
b) Supporting the growth of the BPF's events programme by raising the profile of BPF events and improving the way they are delivered and marketed.
Specific Responsibilities
To support management in the delivery and preparation of:
1. Online events
2. Physical events
3. BPF Energy events
4. The BPF Annual Dinner
5. Webinars
6. Parliamentary receptions
7. Other events with BPF involvement, such as Meet the Toolmaker, Meet the Recycler and the annual event for rotational moulders. This includes all BPF committee- and group-specific events that may arise.
8. Any ad hoc projects that fall under the remit of an events manager, such as short trips abroad for members or delivering extra income to the BPF by outsourcing BPF expertise to deliver events/conferences.
9. To support management in identifying and securing speakers for all the above, with the support of colleagues.
10. To support management in growing income from BPF events by helping to grow sponsorship income as well as other potential income-generating streams, and to work with management to meet agreed income targets wherever possible.
11. To assist with the growth of the BPF events programme, within limits agreed with management.
12. To help to market and improve uptake of the meeting room facilities at BPF House.
13. To support management in managing and maintaining specific budgets for each event.
14. To play a key role in marketing events and webinars, within the scope of the general events budget, with the support of management, the marketing team and group executives when necessary. This may include drafting press releases, when necessary. It may also include other marketing activities, such as short Google Ad campaigns and the creation of posts for social media channels.
15. To work with management to improve marketing emails for events and other marketing material, and to deliver easy-to-use html templates, marketing plans and other supporting materials.
16. To prepare and maintain events webpages and all associated digital delivery/registration platforms to improve the delivery, appeal and user experience for delegates/registrants, with guidance from management.
17. To play a role in maintaining the seminar and webinar archive for members, looking for ways to improve them with assistance from management.
18. To gather feedback from BPF events and webinars and share it with relevant colleagues.
19. To support the events manager with the running of face-to-face events in a variety of locations outside of the BPF premises. This may include short trips nationally and abroad.
20. To create ideas and themes for new events and to innovate with existing events to help with their continuing growth and success.
