The post holder will need to provide specialist clinical knowledge and expertise in their related field. They will be a driver of qualitative, innovative, productive, safe evidence-based nursing care which promotes best practice and best outcomes for patients.
Outcomes will be based on direct and indirect patient feedback, internal and external audits, peer reviews, Matron’s rounds, and corporate quality targets for both patients and staff.
The role is one that is 50% clinical and 50% managerial. The post holder will provide a positive visible role model; influencing best practice from the clinical base; challenging, encouraging, coaching, and mentoring appraisal needs of staff as they become apparent.
The post holder will work closely and supportively with the Department/ Service Managers in the allocated area, to develop and improve nursing practice, improve staff morale, resolve problems for patients and their relatives efficiently and effectively, ensuring that the workforce levels and skill mix are safe and appropriate.
