Our client is one of the leading pallet and box suppliers in the UK and Europe, specialising in supplying to Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) chains and industrial sectors. They offer high-quality pallets and boxes to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
They are currently looking to recruit a Head of Commercial Contracting. This senior role operates as the head of department within the commercial contracting function. You will be fully responsible for the commercial contracting function and work closely with customers, suppliers, relevant authorities, industry representatives, and other heads of department within the UK and European Business to drive the business forward in line with customer requirements and strategic priorities.
This role is pivotal in nurturing a growth mindset across the business, driving group-wide transformation initiatives, and supporting European alignment teams to achieve the company’s strategic ambitions. You will be responsible for transforming concepts into reality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maximise utilisation of customer engagement software and tools to generate periodic reports monitoring the key performance of their contracting portfolio and wider environmental impacts.
* Responsible for the commercial contracting key performance indicators and continuous improvements across the commercial contracting area of the business.
* Report and audit on a weekly/monthly basis to ensure achievement of budgeted volumes.
* Report trends/variations to relevant stakeholders that could demonstrate opportunities or risks.
* Implement and develop sales reporting functionalities to track and monitor conversion rates.
* Develop a framework for monitoring commercial contracting insights to build short/medium/long-term commercial sales strategies.
* Build and maintain databases to promote the company to the correct audience within a marketing campaign framework while maintaining data integrity.
* Interpret information sources and data outputs accurately while observing GDPR compliance when applicable.
* Develop and present monthly business updates to the EU Marketing community and wider business.
* Responsible for all audit requests within the commercial contracting function.
* Effectively use and manage related Power BI modules and data.
* Conduct impact analysis on risks and opportunities alongside trends and benchmarks.
* Deliver outstanding sales collaboration with the wider account management team for new business development and customer retention.
* Develop and maintain efficient streamlined processes to support new business growth and commercial opportunities.
* Monitor and evaluate performance indicators to capture all opportunities in the contract cycles.
* Ensure excellent, seamless implementation to all customers, exceeding expectations.
* Define and implement a commercial contract framework to continuously improve via automation/technology.
* Understand market dynamics to seek internal/external feedback for improving the commercial contracting service.
* Identify automated improvements to support future thinking plans aligned with relevant projects.
* Attend events that may provide commercial or strategic advantage and showcase the business.
* Engage with current and potential customers with professionalism and integrity.
* Organise and conduct customer engagement events and meetings to support wider business requirements.
* Optimise processes and working procedures within the department for continuous performance improvements.
* Implement and maintain best practices regarding customer experience for onboarding and contract renewal cycles.
