Legacy Officer Location: Hybrid (typically one day per week in our London office, willing to be flexible for the right candidate) Contract type: Permanent Hours per week: 35 (Typically Mon – Fri) Salary Range: £34,020 - £38,110 DOE (plus Inner London Weighting, £3,344, if applicable) per annum An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the British Red Cross as a Legacy Officer. Can you play a key part in ensuring that we receive the full amount of any legacy left to the organisation? A day in the life of a Legacy Officer at British Red Cross Working within the Legacy Income team, you will be responsible for managing a varied caseload. You will get the chance to take on complex cases and develop your own knowledge of contentious and non-contentious case work. The team is responsible for ensuring that all legacies left to British Red Cross are administered effectively by the executor and that we receive our full entitlement. At times this is a very busy role. As well as our casework, we also work closely with finance and our income processing team. You will make sure our post and income are added weekly. We also have several team projects you will be encouraged to lead and support on. What you’ll bring to the role of Legacy Officer We are looking for someone who has experience either with a charity legacy team or experience working within the estate administration sector. You will have: Demonstrable experience of legacy administration and/or probate and estate administration. Experience of managing and prioritising a caseload. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build rapport and be empathetic with professionals and lay executors. Excellent IT skills.
