Donnington Grove are looking to recruit an Ambulatory Vet to cover a period of Maternity Leave for a minimum of 6 months and up to one year starting in March/April 2025.
Find a place to excel
The role will be primarily ambulatory, with case follow up in the clinic encouraged.
Donnington Grove Veterinary Group is a large practice based in Newbury Berkshire. We have a varied clientele to include pleasure horses, sport horses and racing. Our ideal candidate would be relatively experienced, confident in performing pre-purchase examinations, and eligible to carry out BHA race duties, in addition to the usual ambulatory skillset; however, less experienced candidates will also be considered. You will enjoy clinical freedom with the back-up of our clinic Specialists and friendly supportive ambulatory team.
Join our fantastic Equine team
We have a total of 33 Equine Vets across the Hospital and Ambulatory Teams. Supporting the Vets we have 15 Nurses - both Trainees and Qualified. Within the hospital, we have Surgical, Medicine and Lameness specialists.
The Ambulatory team is made up of 7 Vets and we are looking for one new recruit to join the team. We sponsor many local events and have recently sponsored a number of local riders.
Our established practice
The Practice is based in Newbury with a well-appointed clinic, which accepts first opinion and referral cases for surgery, MRI, CT, scintigraphy and medical investigations as well as a large in-house laboratory. We have an abundance of mobile kit and support staff to help with ambulatory procedures.
Newbury is a thriving town with good local amenities, great schools and easy transport links to both London and the South Coast.
Rota patterns that work for you
The position will require participation in a 1 in 7 out-of-hours rota. Out of hours work is relatively quiet and does not include stud work, anaesthesia or clinic admissions, which are covered by separate teams.
