Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available The role As a SeniorDevOps Engineer, you'll join a team of developers working in Agile practices to digitise SSE Energy Markets. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our Azure services, focusing on automation, infrastructure as code, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Your expertise in Azure networking, security, and automation will be instrumental in driving forward the Advanced Analytics cloud initiatives. You will - Design, implement, and manage comprehensive Azure solutions, including infrastructure as code (Terraform), Databricks, Data Factory, networking, storage, App Services, and security (Entra ID), ensuring optimisation and best practices. - Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar, and collaborate with development teams for efficient release management. - Implement and manage comprehensive monitoring and alerting solutions using tools like Splunk, Azure Monitor, and Azure Alerts, proactively identifying and reporting infrastructure and application issues, and facilitating monitoring integration with ServiceNow for incident management. - Automate repetitive tasks, optimise infrastructure, and implement security best practices, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance. - Create and maintain detailed infrastructure documentation and participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems. You have - Extensive experience in DevOps or cloud infrastructure management using Terraform for infrastructure as code. - Deep understanding and practical experience with designing and implementing complex Azure networking solutions, hands-on experience managing and optimising with Azure resources including; Storage services and Databases, Databricks, App Services, Functions, and Logic Apps, and implementing and managing Azure monitoring, Log Analytics and alerting solutions. - Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with related tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions). - Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript or C#.NET. - Excellent understanding of release management best practices, agile delivery, and strong understanding of security best practices and within Azure.
