Job Overview:
The Estates Department provides a comprehensive maintenance, repair, and installation service of the buildings, grounds, engineering services, and associated equipment throughout the Trust. You must have served a recognised Electrical apprenticeship and gained wide experience in building engineering services and plant maintenance with a BTEC HNC level or City and Guilds plus relevant post-apprenticeship training or equivalent experience. You must hold a current UK driving licence and reside within half an hour normal travel time to fulfil on-call duties. The role is Monday – Friday with participation in an emergency on-call rota plus opportunities for overtime and weekend working.
Salary: £29,000 - £36,000 pa plus local RRP (£3,000 pa), with an approximate £1,000 pa on-call retainer, overtime, 27 days holiday & voluntary pension scheme.

Person Specification:
Knowledge, Training & Experience
Essential Criteria:
1. HNC in Building services plus specialist training and experience to graduate level, or equivalent gained through a relevant apprenticeship plus additional specialist knowledge and experience gained through specialist training, short courses, and C.P.D.
2. Authorised/Responsible and/or Competent Person in one or more of the following specialisms:
o LV Electrical Systems
o HV Electrical Systems
o Heating and Ventilation Systems
o Decontamination
o Safe Water Systems
o Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS)
o Confined Spaces
3. Extensive knowledge of the electrical and/or mechanical and/or plumbing systems in NHS premises.
4. In-depth knowledge of all relevant legislation and technical guidance.
5. In-depth knowledge of all relevant Health Technical Memorandums (HTM’s).
6. Significant experience working in a complex engineering/building environment.
Technical Skills Competencies
Essential Criteria:
Skilled in maintenance, fault finding, test & repair work on a very wide range of complex engineering services & equipment, with the ability to work unassisted in varying, often technical environments whilst complying with Health & Safety/environmental regulations and standards.
