PLANNING OFFICER
Salary: £35,180 - £38,424 per annum
37 hours per week
Closing Date: Sunday 9th February
Anticipated interview dates: w/c 24th February
These are dynamic times in Test Valley as we meet the challenge of accommodating the new housing and commercial growth we need to plan for across the borough, and deliver masterplan led regeneration projects in Andover and Romsey, as well as contributing to the Council’s ambitious climate change agenda.
Test Valley comprises a diverse and attractive natural and built environment including the North Wessex Downs National Landscape, historic town of Romsey, and the River Test, along with the largest settlement of Andover which is the commercial centre of the borough.
We are therefore hoping that you will join us to help deliver what our communities and unique environment needs.
The post provides opportunities to work creatively on a wide variety of development schemes. With a positive attitude to development, you’ll be responsible for your own case load of planning applications covering a wide variety of development types and schemes. You will also attend planning committee, represent the Council at appeal, and respond to the public on planning enquiries.
With previous experience of working in development management, you’ll be a confident communicator, with the ability to work proactively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including Councillors, parish councils, planning agents, and members of the public.
