Job Title: MEP Project Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 (DOE)
Are you a detail-oriented and driven MEP Project Engineer with a strong background in design coordination? We are currently looking an experienced professional to join our Projects Division, focusing on pre-mobilisation, design coordination, and project delivery. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects from inception through to successful delivery.
MEP Project Engineer Responsibilities:
• Leading design surveys and providing detailed survey information to the design team.
• Conducting thorough reviews of tenders with a focus on design, programme, and risk assessment.
• Leading design Q&A sessions with Clients and the Project Delivery Team.
• Submitting and tracking RFIs to resolve project-related queries.
• Creating procurement documents and completing technical submittals.
• Developing project programmes and highlighting key risks.
• Undertaking Labour and Material measures to ensure seamless project execution.
• Collaborating with the Procurement Team to ensure all necessary materials, plant, and equipment are ordered prior to mobilisation.
• Raising ITTs, reviewing sub-contractor quotes, and working with the Commercial Team to award contracts.
• Assisting with design-related communication and supporting the Project Manager and Contracts Manager in maintaining high quality standards.
• Taking ownership of all project-specific Contractor Design Portion (CDP) elements.
• Drafting detailed site instructions for management review, including works required, location, programme, cost impacts, and client-led change events.
• Ensuring all submitted commissioning documents comply with design and specification requirements.
• Drafting and issuing comprehensive handover documents, including O&M manuals.
Skills Required:
• HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical.
• Proven time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
• In-depth knowledge of British Standards and expertise in Mechanical and/or Electrical disciplines.
• A self-starter mentality with excellent communication skills at all levels, from site personnel to senior management.
• A strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
• The ability to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports.
• Experience in a similar role.
• The ability to liaise professionally with clients.
• A full UK driver’s licence.
