Lincolnshire Integrated Sexual Health (N-LiSH) services have an opportunity for a healthcare support worker to join their countywide team. This post is mostly based at Lindon House, Lincoln, but there will be an expectation to support other clinics when service demands require. Travel time and expenses are supported.
The role is varied and requires candidates to be non-judgemental and adhere to strict confidentiality policy. Experience within healthcare including venepuncture skills is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
1. Sets up clinical rooms, chaperones specialist practitioners within clinical examinations, and handles and processes samples.
2. Provides support on an ad hoc basis for reception and central booking line.
3. Undertakes stock control, ordering of sundries and stock taking duties.
4. Ensures all infection control policies are met by ensuring cleaning duties and clinical waste duties are appropriately met.
5. Will be taught microscopy skills to support in-house diagnostic services.

Job responsibilities
The HCSW will use evidence-based practice to help support and deliver a confidential, quality and cost-effective service in support of and under the direction of a registered professional. They will carry out assigned tasks, appropriate to their role, experience, and competence, including direct nursing care and administrative duties as delegated by the nurse in charge and as part of a wider LiSH team. The HCSW will ensure that patients receive safe, individualised and effective care, accepting delegated responsibility appropriate to the role, experience, and competency of the post holder.
Person Specification
* Good standard of general education and willingness to undertake the skills for health key competences within an agreed time frame.
* Customer service skills with experience of dealing with members of the public.
* Computer literacy at basic level and insight into the needs and circumstances of vulnerable people.
* Commitment to work as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Ability to travel across the county to areas not covered by public transport.
* Experience of working in a caring environment and/or a multi-disciplinary team.
* Knowledge of clinical procedures, observations, and care.
