Job Summary
This role will have responsibility for our community and supported living Care & Support services for the Organisation. It has a crucial part to play in supporting Deafblind UK’s aim to tackle isolation of people with combined sight & hearing loss and to enable our customers to connect with support, activities and services within the community.
Responsible for the strategic and day-to-day management of a team of community Care Coordinators and a Supported Living Registered Support Manager. The function of the role is to enable Deafblind UK to bring its support as close to customers as possible, enabling them to receive an effective service based on their needs and wishes.
Increase growth within new localities, working with local authorities to identify sensory teams, meeting with commissioners, and brokerage teams to negotiate care and support packages within these areas.
Lead and manage the delivery of high-quality support services to customers within the geographical areas, supporting, promoting, and driving a person-centred, outcome-driven service that empowers individuals with support needs.
Responsible for all reporting requirements, data monitoring, business development and growth of services, quality and compliance, and financial responsibility for own budgets.
Essential Qualifications
* QCF level 5 (or suitable equivalent) in social care/leadership/management (or willing to obtain) OR ability to demonstrate relevant equivalent experience
* BSL (British Sign Language) level 1 or willing to obtain
Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge
Minimum 3 years experience of working with people with single and dual sensory loss
* Extensive experience and exposure to managing dispersed teams and a proven track record of leading, developing and motivating employees.
* Experience of delivering personalised support to people who have a disability in a social care setting and an understanding of the barriers faced by disabled people in their day-to-day lives.
* Experience of Facility and Accommodation regulations.
* Experience of supported living tenancy agreements and processes.
* Experience of financial management processes and managing multiple budgets.
* Experience or ability to foster strong relationships with colleagues and external bodies.
* Experience of growth development in the delivery of care in the not-for-profit sector, whilst delivering business plan objectives and motivating staff to deliver high-quality services.
* Experience of managing care & support services and CQC (or equivalent regulatory body) compliant, quality processes and delivering contractual regulatory framework services.
* Experience of working within a target-driven role and have demonstrable experience of meeting targets.
* Experience of managing multiple projects.
* Experience of managing risk and making good decisions.
* IT Skills – Experience of working with Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
* Knowledge of service design, frameworks and tools (desirable).
