About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a opportunity for a Test Lead to join our Digital Data & Cyber Security function based at Sydney - NSW reporting to the Change & Adoption Manager. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as hybrid working.
You will be responsible for planning, conduct and reporting testing in accordance with industry best practices for Information Technology projects within BAE Systems Australia. The Test Lead will work with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Business and IM&T Stakeholders, BAE Systems Australia delivery teams and vendors to build out long-term and project-specific test strategies around testing environments, how information flow would be managed and how testing procedures would work alongside development.
Key responsibilities include:
5. Planning, coordinating, and controlling software tests. These plans will need to be linked to a test strategy that will be articulated by the Test Lead based on the respective project
6. Ensuring visibility, traceability, and control of testing processes within projects of the IM&T Business Systems Program
7. Oversee the vendor based testing team or groups of distributed testing teams as well as collaborating with other team members such as developers, business analysts, and system admins, etc.
8. Define suitable test types, choose test tools, the skill level of the testers and the effort estimates that will feed into the overall project estimates that will be prepared by the project manager
9. Ensure appropriate test environments are setup and available in line with agreed project schedules and that the testers can commence testing as per plan with the required test tools
10. Ensure documentation and reporting of test results to expected standards
11. Ensure traceability to requirements in consultation with project Business Analyst
12. Work with project managers, delivery teams, senior stakeholders and vendors to drive testing maturity including test automation across the program
About YOU
13. Sound knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle within both hybrid and agile environments
14. ISTQB certified Advance Technical Test Analyst or similar is preferred
15. Relevant tertiary qualification in IT or equivalent is considered desirable
16. Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain a Baseline Clearance
