Senior Human Factors Specialist Salisbury - Hybrid (3 days on site) Initial 12 Month Contract Our defence client is looking to add a Human Factors Specialist to their team who will work with the Corporate Health, Safety and Environmental Protection Team and other colleagues across the organisation in helping to implement a Human Factors Strategy aligned with HSE's Human Factors Delivery Guide. The role is aimed at managing Human Factors health, safety and environmental protection risks, particularly in relation to work undertaken on high hazard activities that have the potential to result in major accidents in areas of work with biological agents, very toxic chemicals, energetic materials (e.g. explosives), indoor and outdoor trials and maintenance of critical facilities. Lead the integration of risk management to incorporate Human Factors issues, by: Development of Human Factors policy, procedures and guidance Human Factors risk assessments (Safety Critical Task Analysis) for activities that could result in major accidents. Research and policy initiatives which involve Human Factors Undertake Human Factors training and awareness raising activities, including the development, production, design and delivery of new Human Factors training courses and materials and providing support to trainee Human Factors specialist(s) Support investigation of incidents, dangerous occurrences and near miss investigations To develop and maintain links with Human Factor professionals in other organisations and relevant professional bodies (e.g. CIEHF) Carrying out any other tasks and duties as may reasonably be required by the Corporate Health, Safety and Environmental Protection TeamEssential: Chartered Member of Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors Experience in Safety Critical Task Analysis in high hazard facilities. Excellent communication and leadership skills Practical experience and understanding of managing risks in high hazard environmentsDesirable: Experience of working on a site regulated under Control of major accident hazard regulations (or equivalent e.g. MACR) Experience of working in other high hazard industrial or research industries Awareness of the impact of human factors with regard to environmental protection
