Portsmouth Water is hiring an Asset Investment Planner to develop and optimise investment plans for water infrastructure. This role ensures investments align with regulations, sustainability goals, and operational priorities while maximising value through data analysis and risk assessment. Working with internal teams and external stakeholders, the role drives programme planning and investment decisions. It supports company commitments like net zero while managing operational risk and resilience. What will you be doing? Key Responsibilities Ensure an optimised rolling 5-year capital plan with quarterly reviews, balancing cost, risk, and performance to meet corporate objectives. Provide data-driven insights to guide program delivery, maximising return on investment through expert asset portfolio analysis. Lead the implementation of high-quality investment cases, ensuring strategic, financial, and commercial rigour. Develop and embed a process to integrate service strategy investments into the capital investment plan for optimisation. Develop and manage a structured risk and value (R&V) process to ensure investment decisions maximise efficiency and resilience. Implement cost estimation to inform the optioneering of investment needs. Drive continuous improvement by enhancing processes, systems, and tools while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop an integrated asset investment plan, represent Portsmouth Water in key forums, and stay informed on industry trends and technologies. Skills, Qualifications & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in asset management software and data analytics tools Knowledge of Asset Management principles Ability to interpret complex datasets to inform investment decisions Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Financial acumen, including cost-benefit and risk analysis Report writing Degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience Experience in asset management, investment planning, or capital project development (preferably in the utility sector) Experience in writing reports and/or business cases to inform decision maker We recognise people want to work in a variety of different ways, this means we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements.
