Our client is an established and leading independent manufacturer of speciality products for a wide variety of industrial applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall responsibility for the design, electrical specification and installation standard of electrical equipment for all new Capital, Maintenance and upgrading work.

Educated to RQF level 3 (e.g. Full City & Guilds level 3) in a practical Electrical discipline as a minimum.
A further 5 years practical experience, post qualifications, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Ideally you would have CompEx (Ex01-04) & (Ex05-06) qualifications but this is not a necessity as these can be acquired once employed.
The job requires a flexible attitude to deal with multiple complex jobs simultaneously, to meet the required changes in operational priorities. Electrical Engineer – Responsibilities
Maintenance operations – responsible for the provision, operation and development of all maintenance and planned preventative maintenance systems, including inspections.
Minor project work – responsible for the design, specification, and installation of electrical equipment for new capital, maintenance and upgrading work and controlling expenditure within authorised budgets.
Responsible for the supervision of the electrical team (four personnel) and any electrical contractors.
Should have a good understanding of ATEX, area classification and BS60079, as he/she will be a competent person in area classification, design, installation, inspection and commissioning.
Acts as a Company Technical Authority on electrical matters.
Liaison at all levels inside the Company. Outside contacts typically include suppliers, contractors and agencies such as the HSE & EA.
Safety, Health & Environmental – To maintain and promote a safe operating culture within the Electrical Department ensuring that in all its aspects of installation and maintenance it operates to the highest levels of safety and meets all legal and statutory requirements, company rules and procedures.
Training - To manage the development and training of all electrical personnel. About Us
