Calling all newly qualified and Band 5 dietitians!
We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 Dietitian to join our friendly team at University Hospitals Sussex. This is a post based at Worthing Hospital, five minutes walk from the sea, close to the South Downs and easy access by train to London and Brighton.
Rotations include acute medical/surgery/cardiac & respiratory. You would also have one outpatient clinic per week, patient talks, and staff training so you would gain fantastic experience.
You would be part of a well-respected team including paediatrics, gastroenterology, oncology, neurology/stroke, and critical care in a Teaching Trust.
This is a permanent, on-site, full-time position. Job Share may be considered.
We will accept your application if you are about to qualify in the UK shortly or if you have Band 5 experience and you are looking to develop your skills.
Main duties of the job
* Dietetic management of nominated inpatient acute wards including general medical, surgical, cardiac & respiratory wards
* Teaching & training
* Student training
* Clinical cover of more senior dietitians during leave and opportunity to shadow specialities
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To manage a clinical caseload of adult patients by assessing and treating patients/clients with a variety of general, medical, cardiac, and surgical problems.
Run a weekly general clinic.
Talks to patient groups e.g. cardiac rehab.
Talks & training to clinical staff e.g. nutrition screening, volunteers talk.
To work as a member of the dietetic team and with other healthcare professionals, nurses, speech therapy, catering, doctors, etc. to ensure an efficient, clinically up-to-date dietetic service is provided.
Be involved in cover of other Acute Dietitians as required.
Manage an autonomous clinical caseload of patients with a variety of clinical complexity. This will include undertaking individual patient consultations at ward level, in out-patients and patient group education sessions such as Cardiac Rehab.

Qualifications
* Qualified in Dietetics BSc/MSc/PhD
* HCPC registration
* Clinical Courses e.g. student training
* Previous NHS/Nursing Home Employment
Other relevant experience
* Well written person spec clearly showing skills & experience relevant to this role
* Member of BDA
