The opportunity University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for a Technical Studies Lecturer to oversee teaching, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship on the MA Material Futures Course Based in our Jewellery, Textiles and Materials Programme at Central Saint Martins, the MA Material Futures Course encourages a wholly multi-disciplinary approach to design, blurring the boundaries between design, science and technology. As a Lecturer, you'll be responsible for delivering a range of technical design skills and future fabrication approaches. You'll work closely with the Course Leader to provide inspirational teaching to students, helping to deepen their creative technical knowledge and develop their dynamic design projects and presentations. You'll help to extend the level of subject expertise and critical understanding on the course, keeping the curriculum at the forefront of creative practice and relevant to a diverse and international range of students. About you With a strong academic background, you'll possess an undergraduate degree in design studies, engineering, material sciences or an associated subject, in addition to a higher degree (e.g. MA) in design studies, or an associated subject. You'll need previous experience of teaching and assessment in a higher education environment, along with strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills. You'll also provide evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of material design studies activity and is relevant to the goals of the Programme, College and University.
