SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bovington
Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Do you have a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? GSL Education are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) in Bovington to provide valuable support to students who require tailored assistance to thrive in the classroom. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on student’s academic and personal development.
In this SEN TA role, you will be supporting students with a range of learning difficulties, assisting them in their lessons, and helping them achieve their full potential. You will work alongside teachers to implement individualised learning plans and contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
1. Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they are fully engaged in lessons.
2. Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and adapting materials to meet the individual needs of students.
3. Support students with a variety of learning disabilities and challenges, ensuring they are included in the curriculum.
4. Help implement EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans), IEPs (Individual Education Plans), and other support plans.
5. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging student participation and growth.
6. Support students in developing their social, emotional, and academic skills.
7. Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment, providing support with behaviour management when needed.
8. Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to monitor and assess students' progress.
9. Provide feedback to teachers and parents regarding student progress and achievements.
What you have to do as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
1. Previous experience working with students with SEN, preferably in a classroom setting as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
2. A CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is beneficial but not essential.
3. A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is advantageous.
4. Strong understanding of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and Learning Disabilities.
5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
6. Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students.
