Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic Nurse with superb communication skills to our acute oncology team. We are a small, friendly team of Nurse Specialists, Doctors and a Physicians Associate working cross site at Basingstoke and Winchester Hospital.
We provide an urgent telephone advisory service and clinical assessments to both in-patients and out-patients, whom develop complications related to their cancer treatment or directly related to their cancer. We operate from our dedicated same day emergency care clinical spaces at both Winchester and Basingstoke.
Main duties of the job
The primary objective of our Acute Oncology Service at HHFT is to provide a framework and deliver a coordinated approach to managing the acute admissions of patients with cancer. We do this by establishing and implementing protocols and procedures that ensure Oncology and Haematology patients receive the very best possible standard of care, from the most appropriate person or team, in the best possible place and in an appropriate timely manner.
As a team we are focused on providing the best possible patient care with the resources available to us, whilst striving to identify and achieve incremental improvements whenever possible. We are a small team of passionate and knowledgeable healthcare professionals. It is an absolute privilege to work in a uniquely rewarding job. As a team we never lose sight of the honour we are afforded by caring for people with cancer.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated nurse who is willing to continue to develop and expand their practice within an exciting and constantly developing specialty.
We look forward to hearing from you.
