Job summary Are you a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist with a passion for supporting adults experiencing eating disorders? Our Community Eating Disorder Service for Adults (EDSA) are recruiting and would like to hear from you The EDSA is responsible for providing a countywide community service to adults in Somerset experiencing an eating disorder. This includes assessment and a range of evidence-based interventions (for example, the Maudsley Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults MANTRA, and CBT-based interventions such as Guided Self-Help, CBT-T, CBT-E). We are an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, dietitians, psychological therapists, clinical associate psychologists, assistant psychologist and support workers. We have also fully implemented the FREED approach (see https://freedfromed.co.uk/), pioneered by the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, to enable rapid access to effective treatment for young adults presenting with a first episode of an eating disorder. This is an exciting time to be joining the Trust, and the Eating Disorders Service for Adults, as we work to enhance the availability of care to all adults experiencing eating disorders in Somerset. Main duties of the job You will be working alongside the existing Principal Clinical Psychologist to provide clinical leadership regarding the psychological care offered to people experiencing eating disorders. This will include advice, consultation, supervision and training as well as service development, and direct clinical interventions to people with the most complex psychological needs.
