Managing Director, Strategic Engagement – Aon Inpoint
Aon is recruiting for a Managing Director to join the Strategic Engagement team within Aon Inpoint (London, UK). This can be a hybrid or office-based role. In this high profile and influential position, we are looking for an individual who will be excited about joining a successful global business, where they will take a senior leadership role within an established team and have the opportunity to own strategic relationships with Insurers / Reinsurers across the UK and EMEA.
What the day will look like
1. Taking ownership of key initiatives within Aon Inpoint in the UK and globally.
2. Owning the engagement with Insurers and Reinsurers as the central point of contact, supporting, coaching and mentoring colleagues in the broader client engagement teams around the world.
3. Developing a deep and qualified understanding of your Carriers business strategies, underwriting appetites, and capabilities.
4. Connecting them with Broking and Consulting colleagues whilst maintaining responsibility for excellent client delivery.
5. Overseeing and delivering multiple strategic initiatives within agreed timeframes in order to drive upsell and new revenue opportunities both within your own accounts and in support of your direct reports.
6. Using your experience, market research skills and business acumen to ensure that your clients and colleagues stay ahead of the macro trends impacting the industry.
7. Managing an executive level network of stakeholders, developing effective communication plans which ensure that the Aon Inpoint Strategic Engagement strategy is consistently understood and well-articulated both internally and externally.
8. Taking a leading role in establishing a high-performance and inclusive culture, promoting a fun and collaborative working environment for the benefit of our clients and colleagues.
9. Taking ownership and contributing to the development of the Aon Inpoint brand through thought leadership, internal and external presentations.
10. Ensuring that your team works in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training).
About you
1. You are an experienced people leader who enjoys developing people and taking a leading role in establishing positive working environments.
2. You enjoy challenging the status quo and internal processes to identify opportunities to work more efficiently.
3. Based on your industry experience, you are capable of identifying gaps in the market, assessing and tracking trends and opportunities working in collaboration with Carriers to develop new products and services for the benefit of our end clients.
4. You are comfortable leading accounts and account teams, utilising data and analytics to drive action plans, monitoring progress, and assuring that our services exceed expectations.
5. You facilitate collaborative working practices ensuring a well-articulated and prioritised set of medium and long-term goals for your clients and direct reports.
6. You are a self-reliant self-starter who thinks around problems, is creative and resourceful, with experience of prioritising work under pressure and helping others to do so.
7. You are comfortable with upward and direct management, persuasion, negotiation, diplomacy and able to work within mixed and virtual teams, to forge links and build networks across our organisation.
