We are looking for someone to join us as a Home Receptionist for maternity leave cover here at Abbey Meadow and St Lukes, LA13 0BF. This position is 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. £13 per hour. The contract is for 13 months, to start February 2025.
The responsibilities of our Home Receptionist are to:
* Place our residents at the heart of all that you do.
* Greet visitors and liaise with visiting professionals and residents’ families.
* Operate the multiline telephone system including daily contact with NHS teams such as the GP surgery and Furness General Hospital, arranging transport/visits/appointments and telephone consultations.
* Communicate with family members as well as other health care professionals.
* Help to maintain a safe, supportive and respectful environment within our homes.
* Order prescriptions for our residents.
* Book appointments such as hairdressers and chiropodists for our residents.
* Perform general office duties including photocopying, organising internal mail deliveries, receiving external mail and deliveries, ensuring all delivery notes are given to accounts.
* Maintain the residents’ petty cash accounts and ensure all receipts are accounted for.
* Support our four Home Managers who are based here at Abbey Meadow and St Lukes.
* Assist our Activity Coordinators with planning fundraising events.
* Take pride in your work.
The requirements of our Home Receptionist:
* Have a Level 2 Business Administration NVQ qualification or equivalent.
* Be confident on the PC including working with all Microsoft packages and able to compose formal letters, memos and emails.
* Have office/reception-based experience including experience using a multiline telephone system.
* Be aware of data security and maintaining confidentiality.
* Have excellent time management skills and can work to a deadline.
* Be honest.
* Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Possess excellent communication skills.
* A helpful, caring personality is of paramount importance, as is the ability to maintain a smile and calm exterior whilst multi-tasking.
