Key Information:
* Permanent UK CRO role for a large multinational Non-Life Insurer
* C.200k base salary + bonus
* Hybrid working set up (2 days in 3 from home)
* Actuarial background/qualifications strongly preferred
Key Responsibilities:
* Full UK CRO role
* Produce and monitor capital requirements (MCR, SCR) on a Standard Formula basis, as well as contribute in the calibration, calculation and validation of the internal model SCR.
* Chair the Risk Committee and principal forum for risk management related issues and topics within the UK structure.
* The Risk Committee provides important input into the UK Executive Committee as well as to Group Risk. The setup of the Risk Committee and the inclusion of all material and key stakeholders as well as topics is a direct responsibility of the committee’s Chair.
* Chair/Member of Product Committee
* Establish, implement and oversee the risk management systems, processes and controls, including adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements (including, PRA and FCA) in order to provide a full-scale risk function.
* Ensure all risks are monitored, analysed and reported in relation to risk appetite, and escalated as appropriate.
* Support the implementation of new legislations (including DORA) in order to assure the consistency with Group Guidelines and local legislation.
* Support the transformation of UK Branch
* Support the Branch in the new Group strategical plan, implementing evaluation for new products, monitoring risk and specific initiative, assuring consistency with the risk appetite framework of Group and Branch.
* Responsible for recruitment and line management of the Risk Function.
* Monitor and challenge Line 1 Risk and Control activities.
* Manage and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. the PRA, FCA)
* In the respect of the Group Guideline collaborate with Finance and Actuarial departments which contribute to the regulatory and internal capital calculation process.
Ideal Qualifications:
* Previous experience as a CRO ideal but happy to look at someone ready to step up into the role
* Experience with Internal Model implementation / approval and in the relationship with Regulators
* Qualified Actuary preferred
* Proven experience in Insurance (ideally non-life), within 2nd line risk management functions, and a strong understanding of compliance and regulatory standards.
* Prior experience in a regulatory-approved position, especially with internal model implementation, is highly valued.
