Role overview: We’re seeking a motivated Assistant Shop Manager to support our trading team. You’ll act as an ambassador, supporting the shop manager and team to maximize income through people, resources, and stock. You’ll be surrounded by people dedicated to beating cancer.
Key responsibilities:
1. Support the shop manager in leading and engaging a diverse team of paid staff and volunteers.
2. Assist in the commercial operation of the store, including display, merchandising, stock management, maintaining standards, layout, sales, and income.
3. Lead by example, providing excellent customer and supporter service.
4. Work with the shop manager to achieve targets for donated stock, cash, gift aid, average selling price, sell-through, and stock processing.
5. Build relationships within the local community and with Cancer Research UK colleagues.
6. Support the organization and delivery of creative fundraising events to meet targets.
7. Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration, and HR policies.
8. Deputize for the shop manager when absent.
9. Perform manual handling and physical activities as part of daily duties.
