Join the Team at Seckford Hall Hotel as Operations Manager
Are you a plate spinner?
At Seckford Hall Hotel & Spa, we’re looking for a dynamic Operations Manager who’s not afraid to take risks, embrace challenges, and occasionally break a plate or two. We want someone who thrives on spinning multiple plates at once rather than playing it safe and avoiding the spin altogether.
We are currently undergoing a complete refurbishment plan and in the final stages of repositioning the hotel. This is not only an exciting time to join the team, it is also a great opportunity for someone to be part of our amazing journey. We are aiming for red star levels of service, in a relaxed atmosphere. You will need to want to take us to the next level of hospitality, standards and service.
Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Suffolk countryside, Seckford Hall Hotel is a 4-star, 40-bedroom retreat steeped in charm and history. Renowned for our exceptional hospitality, exquisite events, and tranquil surroundings, we pride ourselves on delivering memorable experiences for every guest.
We’re looking for an Operations Manager to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in upholding and enhancing the quality and service Seckford Hall is known for. If you’re passionate about hospitality, thrive on operational excellence, and want to be part of a dynamic, close-knit team, this is your chance to join a truly special workplace.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you’ll report directly to the Hotel Manager and oversee the daily operations across multiple departments, including food & beverage, housekeeping, reception, breakfast services, night operations, and events management. Working collaboratively with department heads, you’ll ensure a seamless experience for every guest while driving efficiency and maintaining our high standards of service.
Your role will be varied and rewarding, covering everything from managing stock levels to coordinating large-scale weddings and events, all while creating a positive environment for both guests and staff.
What You’ll Do
Operational Leadership:
* Lead daily operations across food & beverage, reception, and other key departments to ensure smooth, efficient service.
* Implement processes that enhance guest satisfaction and team performance.
* Actively respond to guest feedback and use it to continually improve our service.
Food & Beverage Management:
* Work closely with the Restaurant Manager and Bar Supervisor to ensure an exceptional dining and beverage experience.
* Monitor service quality, menu execution, and guest satisfaction.
* Support the team in delivering seamless service for weddings, events, and day-to-day dining.
Reception Management:
* Oversee reception operations to ensure smooth check-in, check-out, and overall guest journey.
* Work closely with the Guest Experience Supervisor to deliver a warm, welcoming first impression and efficient guest services.
Event Oversight:
* Collaborate with our Wedding & Events Managers to deliver exceptional experiences, from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations.
* Liaise with clients to ensure their unique visions are brought to life.
* Coordinate with catering and service teams for flawless execution.
Team Management:
* Provide guidance and support to our housekeeping, food & beverage, reception, night team, and other key departments.
* Promote a culture of teamwork and professional development.
* Ensure staff are well-trained and equipped to deliver the best possible service.
Financial Responsibility:
* Monitor budgets, stock levels, and wage forecasts to ensure efficiency and cost control.
* Work closely with the Hotel Manager on financial planning and strategy.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
* Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and hygiene.
* Ensure all operations align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone with:
* Proven experience in hotel operations, ideally within a 4-star setting but with a 5-star mindset.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
* Experience managing food & beverage and reception operations is essential.
* Clear understanding of Guestline PMS, or another PMS, including EPOS and ResDiary (or similar).
* A hands-on, guest-first approach with an eye for detail and quality.
* A proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in event management or a background in hospitality is a distinct advantage.
This is your chance to lead a passionate team, make a real impact, and be part of our journey as we continue to deliver exceptional experiences to our guests. If you have the drive, creativity, and resilience to keep the plates spinning (and the ambition to set a few new ones in motion), we want to hear from you.
