Job Description
As a Field Service Engineer within the National Response Team, you will be responsible for providing high quality field based technical expertise. The main element of this role will be to provide this high level of field-based support direct to customers within the UK.
Responsibilities:
1. You will carry out repairs, on site commissioning, service and calibration of customer's inline inspection equipment to the stated processes and procedures which will also include where required the provision of on-site customer training.
2. Carry out upgrades and refurbishments on customer site.
3. Handle on site customer queries in a fair and courteous manner.
4. You must be prepared to adapt to all types of environments and comply with local client's health and safety regulations.
5. You will need to complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on a timely basis in accordance with the company procedures.
6. You will be expected to co-operate by working overtime as and when required.
7. You will be part of the on-call standby rota system as required
8. You will need to be prepared to learn a diverse set of products and continually improve your product knowledge.
9. Provide technical support via phone and email where required
Qualifications
Essential:
10. Good Technical Electrical / Electronics skills
11. Minimum ONC or similar qualification in electromechanical / electrical engineering
12. Ideally experience in a field service role and familiar with all aspects of customer service including commissioning, repairs, and servicing.
13. PLC programming and knowledge of PC hardware an advantage
14. Good PC literacy
15. Good Organisation skills orientated around reliably delivering what is promised
16. Good methodical approach to problem solving
17. Full current UK driving licence
18. Good communication skills
19. Good customer service skills
20. Flexibility will be required to work overtime including weekends as required
21. Track-record for contributing and being successful in a similar role.
Desirable
22. Knowledge of the food manufacturing industry
23. Knowledge of Metal Detection, Checkweigher or Xray technology
